Children are taught by a licensed teacher and one assistant in a safe and nurturing environment. Little Learners Outdoors! -- Everything you love about our Little Learners program plus the additional benefits of an outdoor nature experience using the MN DNR Project Learning Tree and Project Wild curriculum. The majority of Little Learners Outdoors is outside exploring trails, woods and our dynamic nature classrooms while still incorporating all the key learning curriculum. Adult Trip: Runestone Museum Tour in AlexandriaEnrichment8:45 a.m. Leave Eastview Elementary, 9375 Fenning Ave. No., Monticello.Load in parking lot. 9:30 a.m. Make a comfort stop at the Middle Spunk Lake Rest Area near Avon, MN. 11:00 a.m. Arrive for lunch at Travelers Inn Restaurant, Alexandria’s Oldest Eating Establishment since 1924.Menu: Swedish Meatballs, Lightly Spiced and served in a Creamy Gravy Sauce, Served with Baby Red Skinned Mashed, Vegetable, Dinner Roll, Beverage 12:30 p.m. Leave Travelers Inn Restaurant. Just three blocks down the street is the Runestone Museum. 12:45 p.m. Take a guided tour of The Runestone Museum Foundation. It has been inspiring curiosity about local history and heritage for more than 50 years. The World Famous and controversial Kensington Rune Stone was the Runestone Museum’s only artifact when it opened its’ doors in 1958. Since then, the museum has grown to include additional artifacts found in Minnesota that relate to Middle-Age Nordic explorers. The 40 piece collection includes the Climax fire steel. In the First Peoples exhibit, an original 1920s Tinkle Cone Dress is on display; only four such dresses exist in North America. Visitors can also explore Minnesota’s natural history. In this class you will receive an active starter and make delicious sourdough discard recipes in our 2 hour class.You will be paired up with 1 or 2 people and each group will make a different recipe. Big Lake High School BowlingRecreationCompete. Represent. Win. Join the Big Lake High School Bowling Team and compete against other schools nearby and across the state! Build lasting friendships, represent your school with pride, and experience the excitement of high school competition. Join the sport that more people participate in than any other! It’s fun for everyone regardless of skill level! Grades 7-12: Practices begin August 11th at 3:30pm, matches begin in early September (schedule released after practice begins). Grades 5-6: Practice-only program, practice with the high school team, designed to prepare future competitors. The regular season runs through mid-November, with qualifying teams advancing to postseason and state competition through early December. No equipment necessary to join, we will provide balls and shoes for those that need it. Not from Big Lake but would like to participate, reach out to William and check eligibility to join. Discovery Club Summer Field TripsTrips**If your child is registered for Kids Club during these field trips, they are included in their daily activities so do not register** Join us for as we tour and enjoy our local community! Open to youth who will be going into Kindergarten-6th grade fall of 2026. Children will build a stronger connection to nature and make lasting memories while visiting fun and exciting local parks and attractions. No spending money is needed. Please have your child wear tennis shoes, comfortable clothing, and have sunscreen applied. Also, please send your child with their own water bottle.
