  • Basketball Summer Skills MS/HS Boys | Grades 7-12

    ** ** Pricing in our Summer catalog was incorrect and has been changed accordingly ** ** Middle School/High School Boys Summer Skills narrows its focus from an overall skills camp and specifically teaches the individual skills needed to be a successful player in today's game. Instructor: Big Lake HS Boys Basketball Coaches will lead this session with the following skills: *Developing ball handling and dribbling *Creating space for yourself and others *Finishing moves around the basket *Shooting: Rhythm and Repetition *Defensive stance, footwork and movement *Understanding and executing skills coaches look for *Skill work for one hour and organized games to apply the skills for 30 minutes either in a 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, or 5v5 setting. Please note that these practices meet at various dates/times - please refer to confirmation details. Note: Athletes are not required, but are strongly recommended to also register for Sports Speed & Strength 6:45-8 am session or the 8-9:15am session before May 15th.

    Compete. Represent. Win. Join the Big Lake High School Bowling Team and compete against other schools nearby and across the state! Build lasting friendships, represent your school with pride, and experience the excitement of high school competition. Join the sport that more people participate in than any other! It’s fun for everyone regardless of skill level! Grades 7-12: Practices begin August 11th at 3:30pm, matches begin in early September (schedule released after practice begins). Grades 5-6: Practice-only program, practice with the high school team, designed to prepare future competitors. The regular season runs through mid-November, with qualifying teams advancing to postseason and state competition through early December. No equipment necessary to join, we will provide balls and shoes for those that need it. Not from Big Lake but would like to participate, reach out to William and check eligibility to join.     ** Summer Hornet Youth Football & 7v7 Passing League Camps ** Hornet Football Camps & 7v7 Passing Leagues are back!! Your athlete Grades 3-8 will have a couple of options to register. Grades K-6 campers will learn the basic football skills at offensive and defensive positions in the preseason camp, while 7-8 grade campers will learn about the varsity offensive and defensive schemes. 7v7 passing league practices will focus on fun and help all athletes develop a love for the sport via a fully non-contact model. Bring cleats (preferred by not required), tennis shoes, active wear and a water bottle. All practices will meet at HS Practice Fields # 4 & 5.     Take your tennis game to the next level this summer! This week-long Tennis Camp provides focused training for boys and girls of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced. Players will develop stroke technique, footwork, and match strategy through structured drills and competitive play. Players in Grades 3–5 will focus on building strong tennis fundamentals, while players in Grades 6–12 will participate in drills/games Monday through Wednesday, followed by match play on Thursdays to help transfer skills into real match situations. This camp is perfect preparation for the upcoming season. Instructor: Julie Browen
  • Track and Field Camp

    This 4-day summer camp will introduce young athletes to the world of Track and Field! Students will learn proper warm-up and stretches, running technique, breathing, and participate in various track and field events (short sprints, longer paced runs, vertical and horizontal jumps, and throws). Track and Field athletes will also engage in some outdoor games that focus on speed, endurance, technique, and teamwork! Wear comfortable clothing, tennis shoes and bring a water bottle. Make-up day Friday, July 31st. Instructor: HS Coach, Bob Blanchard and HS athletes.
