Set Design Basics & Prop Design

In this hands-on class, students will learn how to design and build sets and props for a live theatrical production. Students will explore the basics of scenic design, prop construction, and visual storytelling while working collaboratively to support an upcoming show. The class will cover reading a script for design clues, creating sketches and plans, selecting materials, and safely building and finishing stage elements. By the end of the course, students will see their designs come to life onstage, gaining real-world experience in the technical side of theater and an understanding of how design choices shape a performance.
